You Got This — I Promise You Do

I want to talk to you — yes, you. The one who is scared right now. The one who is hurting, maybe feeling sad, maybe feeling like the weight of it all is too much to carry. I know that feeling. I have lived inside it.

For a long time, I did not speak out. One of the things I wish someone had told me sooner is that you will be safe when you tell someone. Reaching out — whether that means going to the police or another person you trust — can feel terrifying. I understand that. But safety is possible. I did not always believe that, and I want you to believe it before I did.

What helped me keep going was speaking out and going to counselling. Those two things changed everything for me. Saying the truth out loud, and having somewhere to bring it, gave me something to hold onto. It was not easy. But it moved me forward.

One of the smallest things that made the biggest difference was standing up and writing my story. I did not know how much power that would give me. Putting words to what I had been through — telling it in my own voice — helped me see how far I had come. It reminded me that my story belongs to me.

Even on the hardest days, I want you to know this: believe in yourself. Your self-esteem, your worth, your ability to heal — these things are still inside you, even when you cannot feel them. Support exists. You do not have to carry this alone.

You will be scared. You might be sad. You might even go through depression. But you will grow through all of it, emotionally and in ways you cannot imagine yet. I know because I am still growing.

Please reach out. To someone you trust, to a professional, or even to me. We can support each other. You got this. I truly believe that about you.
